Warm, grounded, and effortlessly classic. This kitchen blends exposed brick with natural maple cabinetry for a look that’s both rustic and refined. The red brick walls provide depth and texture, while the clean-lined cabinetry and brushed nickel fixtures balance the space with a modern touch. A cool gray tile floor anchors the room, complementing the stainless steel appliances and soft neutral walls for a timeless finish.
Exposed brick, natural wood, and understated finishes combine to create a kitchen that feels authentic, warm, and welcoming.
The Challenger
The original kitchen had charm but lacked cohesion and storage. Narrow counters, mismatched finishes, and outdated lighting made the space feel darker and more confined than it was. The homeowners wanted to preserve the character of the exposed brick while updating everything around it for better flow and day-to-day function.
Balancing historic detail with modern convenience was key. The challenge was to highlight the brick’s texture and patina without overwhelming the small space, ensuring every surface served a purpose.
The Result
The redesign celebrates contrast and craftsmanship. Custom maple cabinetry brightens the room and provides efficient, full-height storage. Sleek quartz-look countertops and undercabinet lighting enhance usability, while the stainless steel range and hood introduce a contemporary note.
The preserved brick walls bring warmth and soul, setting a backdrop that pairs beautifully with the updated materials. Together, the new finishes create a seamless dialogue between old and new—an inviting, livable kitchen that honors its roots while feeling distinctly modern.
