The Challenger

The previous layout offered function but lacked openness and cohesion. Darker surfaces and bulky upper cabinets made the kitchen feel confined, separating it from the adjacent dining area. The homeowners wanted a space that felt bright, social, and contemporary—one that could serve both as a chef’s kitchen and a comfortable hub for gatherings.

The challenge was to expand usable workspace and visual flow without losing structure. Every design decision—from material palette to lighting—needed to create brightness and connectivity while maintaining durability for everyday use.

The Result

The redesign opened the kitchen into the dining space, anchored by a sleek waterfall quartz island that doubles as a prep and seating zone. Custom white cabinetry and quartz backsplashes create a seamless, reflective surface that amplifies natural light.
